I’ve been a professional writer since 1994, but I started writing for myself in 1980.
I’ve often thought that everyone could write well. But it was drawn to my attention that this was not true, and what’s more, that it could be fixed.
I also realised that I had a lot to thank all those early years of reading and writing for. That I was taking something for granted that I had spent years practicing and honing.
This is why I began the process of creating Rock Your Writing. I realised that not only had I learned things that weren't readily available but that there are not many courses out there that do it.
Writing intimidates and rattles some people. It has so many implications. This is why Rock Your Writing is a rollicking, fun and light-hearted course.
But don’t be fooled: the information is for real. It works and it is easy to adopt. Writing doesn’t have to be complicated. In fact, it really shouldn’t be.
One of the best tips I can give is: if it was hard to write, it is going to be hard to read. Which means you may not get your point across.
Some of the basic rules of English grammar support and strengthen writing… it’s important to know and command those rules. Rock Your Writing shows you which ones and how to use them.
